I personally believe increasing the number of women in construction and the trades goes beyond recruitment.
We need to build a culture from within making sure women are supported once they’re here.
That means meaningful career development, access to basic jobsite needs, properly fitting PPE, equitable pay, strong leadership, and workplaces where women feel like they belong.
If you’ve worked in construction or the skilled trades, your experience matters.
I’m asking for 12-15 minutes of your time to complete this survey and contribute to Build-Her.Org’s ongoing research efforts focused on the experiences of women in our industry.
Your voice can help identify what keeps women in the trades, what drives them away, and what employers, industry leaders, and policymakers need to do differently.
If we want more women entering construction we need to vocalize to companies and leaders the gaps needed to fill to understand what helps them stay.
