Build-Her.Org is proud to partner with Equal Human Rights Organization and PIP Global on an independent research initiative focused on how personal protective equipment, or PPE, serves women working in construction, manufacturing, energy, data centers, and other industrial environments.
This study will explore how women experience PPE in real-world jobsite conditions, including how equipment fits, feels, performs, and impacts safety, confidence, inclusion, and overall workplace effectiveness. Beyond physical protection, the research will also consider the psychological and professional effects of PPE that is not designed with women’s bodies, needs, or jobsite realities in mind.
Through surveys, interviews, and collaboration with industry stakeholders, the study aims to help identify gaps, elevate women’s voices, and support practical innovation in PPE design, accessibility, and usability. The findings will be published in an independent report with recommendations for manufacturers, employers, and policymakers committed to creating safer, better PPE products for women in the trades and industrial sectors.
Expected Publication: November 2026
